MCCG Calls on the Illinois General Assembly to Pass a Comprehensive State Capital Bill

The McHenry County Council of Governments testified at a hearing on April 6, 2009 in Northbrook, IL. that was conducted by State Representative John Bradley (D-Marion).  The MCCG called on the General Assembly to pass a comprehensive capital bill this year.  Click here for a transcript of the testimony.

MCCG Focus on the Economy

The downturn in the economy has affected local governments and their residents in McHenry County.  The MCCG is focusing on the challenges in dealing with the recession by providing resources and information to help our members navigate through these difficult times.  The MCCG has provided the following programs over the past three months.  For more information on the programs and additional resources, please feel free to contact the MCCG office at 815-477-2090.

The March 25, 2009 Meeting featured a Panel Discussion on Local Government Budgeting in a Difficult Fiscal Environment and included Mr. Greg Kuhn from the Center for Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University,
Mr. Roscoe Stelford, Finance Director at the City of Woodstock, Mr. Doug Maxeiner, City Manager for the City of McHenry and Mr. Bill Ganek, Village Manager for the Village of Algonquin.

The February 25, 2009 Meeting Featured a Panel Discussion with Representatives from McHenry County Service Organizations.  These groups provide vital services to residents challenged by the current economic recession:
