Energy Purchasing Cooperative

The MCCG is coordinating aggregate purchasing efforts with McHenry County and an RFP for consulting services to coordinate this effort was sent out by McHenry County a few weeks ago.

Municipalities moving forward with the aggregation process must approve an Ordinance authorizing a referendum question on the March ballot asking residents if the municipality/county shall pursue aggregate purchasing of electricity on behalf of residents.

In addition to McHenry County, the municipalities that have committed to working jointly through this process include:

Village of Algonquin
City of Genoa
Village of Huntley
Village of Lakewood
Village of Lake in the Hills
Village of McCullom Lake
City of Marengo
City of McHenry
Village of Ringwood
Village of Spring Grove
City of Woodstock
